Dear {:firstName},

Welcome to your May edition of the Zadel Property Education Newsletter.

First and foremost, Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mums out there! We hope you were spoilt by your loved ones and have had a great month so far financially, but especially personally. ZPE has a jam-packed Newsletter for you as we look forward to some exciting news for the coming month and also revisit some recent highlights.

Now, on to business! I have a couple of important topics that I would like to cover with you this month that I hope can help you maximise opportunities that may be right in front of you…

#1. Tax Time Is Near

I truly hope my introduction to Jeff Banks last month inspired some of you to get proactive with your taxes and finances. Whether you have contacted Jeff and his team at Banks Consultancy, or simply ramped up your own financial awareness with your current “team”, I am proud of the steps you may be taking to protect what you have earned.

As you may already know, to make the most of tax time each year, it is vitally important to address it as far as possible in advance. We are fast approaching the end of May, however it is not too late to get proactive and start to organise your files and figures well before the 30th of June.

View Jeff’s video below for his monthly tip, and let this be a gentle reminder to start thinking about how you can make the most of tax time this financial year. Every dollar you save can be a dollar put towards your next successful investment!

#2. The Federal Budget - Did The Real Estate Market Win Or Lose?

Anyone who has been watching the news will have heard how the recent Federal Budget has impacted the education sector, the health sector, the pensioners, high income earners, superannuation and infrastructure - just to name a few - but very little has been mentioned about the real estate market and property.

Did they forget about us passionate property investors and entrepreneurs? Well, traditionally, real estate doesn’t play a major role during annual federal budgets due to the fact that the industry is generally managed under macro policy rather than micro.

But, there were some potential cuts that many of us may have been half expecting to create more of an income stream for the government, such as family home assets being included in the means testing for pensioners, as well as the current negative gearing legislation which is costing the Government billions a year in lost tax revenue.

However, for the time being, these aspects of our industry have been left alone. If you know me, you will know I don’t encourage negative gearing in this current market, although I am sure there are still many investors out there who are breathing a sigh of relief at this result.

What’s Been Happening?

Cherie Barber successfully completed her tour of the country showcasing her highly-renowned ‘Renovating Run Down Real Estate’ event. Across four major cities, Cherie presented to an amazing turn out of property entrepreneurs who are looking to take the next step in their property journey!

Daniel Kertcher has also just recently completed his round of ‘Share Trading Success’ events around the country. His four events evoked a great response from those who attended and reminded us how well-received Daniel is with his audiences in Australia.

What Else Is Coming Up?

We have the pleasure of announcing that Dominique Grubisa, our nationally-recognised debt specialist and legal expert, will be touring the country in the next fortnight, where she will be sharing with you valuable insights into the distressed property market in Australia!

The Crash of 2016

Written by Thom Hartmann, this thoroughly researched account of the USA details the gloomy forecast for the near future as he examines events leading as far back as the Great Depression and the Civil War, up until the current economic implosion and how these are contributing to the causation of the ‘unavoidable’ and catastrophic market crash of 2016.

Are you curious of what may be about to happen in the near future? If so then this could be the book you are looking for.

Thoroughly researched and passionately argued, THE CRASH OF 2016 is not just a roadmap to redemption in post-Crash America, but a critical wake-up call, challenging us to act. Only if the right reforms are enacted and the moral choices are made, can we avert disaster?
